In development · talking to fleet operators in NRW

Charge more vehicles on the grid you already have.

ChargeProof is smart charging and energy verification for commercial EV fleets. We schedule every charging session around departures, grid limits and electricity prices, and prove every kWh and every euro saved with audit-ready data.

Illustrative depot load: same energy delivered, peak kept under the connection limit, every vehicle ready on time.
The problem

Fleets are going electric faster than depots can be connected.

When a shift ends and every vehicle plugs in at once, a depot hits a peak it was never built for. That one moment drives the cost of the whole electrification project.

01 · The grid wall

The connection says no

Thirty vans charging at full power can exceed a depot's grid connection. Upgrading it is expensive and can take a long time, which stalls the next round of EVs.

02 · Peak charges

One peak, a full year of cost

For many commercial connections, the highest 15-minute peak sets the demand charge (Leistungspreis). A single unmanaged evening can lock in a high bill for the year.

03 · Unprovable numbers

Savings nobody can audit

Energy tools report averages and estimates. Finance teams preparing CSRD reports need figures they can trace back to the meter, with a documented method.

How it works

Four steps, no new hardware in the vehicles.

ChargeProof sits on top of the chargers and meters a depot already has, and turns their data into a charging schedule and a verifiable record.

  1. Connect

Link chargers via OCPP, the open standard most commercial chargers support, plus the depot's grid meter. Telematics and departure plans are optional inputs.

  2. Optimize

Schedule each session around departure times, the connection limit, electricity prices and low-carbon hours, so every vehicle is ready and the peak stays down.

  3. Prove

Measure every session against a documented baseline. Raw meter data is stored unaltered and reconciled against the depot meter.

  4. Report

A live dashboard per depot, a monthly report for finance, and an export mapped to CSRD climate disclosures (ESRS E1).

Product

One platform, three layers.

Fleets start with optimization and proof. Flexibility comes once enough depots are connected.

Core

Optimize

Smart charging that respects the grid limit and the route plan.

  • Departure-aware scheduling
  • Dynamic peak limit per depot
  • Price- and carbon-aware charging windows
Core

Proof

Measurement, reporting and verification for energy, cost and CO₂.

  • Per-session kWh, cost and emissions
  • Savings vs. a documented baseline
  • CSRD-ready export and audit trail
On the roadmap

Flex

Turning connected depots into a flexible grid resource.

  • Pooling depots into a virtual power plant
  • Flexibility revenue via market partners
  • Compliance credit add-on (THG-Quote)
Proof & MRV

Proof, not promises.

Built by a founder from finance and accounting, ChargeProof treats every number like a figure in an annual report: it needs a source, a method and an audit trail.

Audit trail: every reported number drills down to raw meter records, run ID and methodology version.
Principle 1

Published methodology

Boundaries, baselines, formulas and data sources are written down and versioned. Changes are logged, never silent.

Principle 2

Conservative by design

Where data is missing or uncertain, we choose the option that understates savings. Under-claiming beats correcting later.

Principle 3

Independent review

We plan to have the methodology reviewed externally before the first pilot results are published.

Savings = Baseline (unmanaged charging, same sessions) − Actual (optimized charging)
measured per session, for: kWh shifted · kW peak · € cost · kg CO₂e

Who it's for

Built for depots, read by finance.

Any commercial fleet that charges at its own site, from 10 vehicles upward.

  • Logistics & parcel delivery
  • Care and social services
  • Trades & field service
  • Municipal fleets & Stadtwerke
  • Bus and shuttle depots
  • Car sharing & rental
Fleet manager

Vehicles ready on time

Departure plans come first. Charging fits around the routes, not the other way round.

Facility & energy manager

No overloaded connection

Stay under the grid limit and postpone, or avoid, a costly connection upgrade.

CFO & sustainability

Numbers that hold up

Energy, cost and emissions data with a method and audit trail, ready for CSRD reporting.

Business model

We earn when the fleet saves.

Simple, recurring and aligned with the customer's result.

Subscription

SaaS per charge point

A monthly fee per connected charge point for optimization, dashboard and reporting.

Gain-share

Share of verified savings

An optional model where part of our fee is a share of the savings, measured against the baseline. No savings, no fee.

Add-ons

Reporting & flexibility

CSRD reporting packages, compliance credit handling and, later, a share of flexibility market revenue.

Pilot program

Become one of our first pilot fleets.

We are preparing pilots with fleets in North Rhine-Westphalia. A pilot is free and runs for three months.

What you get

  • A baseline analysis of your depot's current charging and peak load
  • Three months of optimized charging
  • A monthly report on energy, cost and CO₂ your finance team can use
  • Success metrics agreed with you before we start

What we need

  • 10 or more EVs charging at one depot (or planned within 12 months)
  • Chargers with OCPP access, or a charge point operator who can provide it
  • Access to the depot's grid meter data
  • About 30 minutes a month for a review call

Request a pilot or get in touch

Fleet operators, charge point operators, utilities, researchers and investors are all welcome.

Roadmap

Where we are, and what comes next.

ChargeProof is an early-stage project and not yet an incorporated company. Here is our honest status.

  1. Now

    Methodology & MRV engine

Writing the methodology and building the data pipeline and calculation engine.

  2. Next

    Validation

Testing the full pipeline on open charging data and a simulated depot.

  3. Then

    First pilot fleets

Three-month pilots with fleets in NRW, results published with permission.

  4. Later

    Independent review & scale

External methodology review, then rollout across Germany and the EU.

  5. Future

    Flex

Pooling depots to offer flexibility to the grid.

FAQ

Questions fleets ask us.

Do we need new hardware?

No new hardware in the vehicles. ChargeProof works with chargers that support OCPP, which most commercial chargers do, and with the depot's existing grid meter data.

Will our vehicles still be ready on time?

Yes. Departure times are a hard constraint. The schedule only moves charging within the window each vehicle is parked.

Is ChargeProof a carbon credit business?

No. Our core product is smart charging and verified energy data. Emissions are part of every report, and compliance credits such as the German THG-Quote can be an add-on, but they are not the reason to use ChargeProof.

How do you handle our data?

Charging sessions can be linked to drivers, so we treat them as personal data under GDPR: we sign a data processing agreement, store only what the reporting needs, and host in the EU.

What does it cost?

Pilots are free. After that, pricing is a monthly fee per charge point, optionally combined with a share of verified savings. We share pricing once we understand your depot.

Which fleets are a good fit?

Fleets with 10 or more EVs charging at their own depot, or planning to, especially where the grid connection is already tight.
